Ignition Lock Cylinder

Removal

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    NOTE: For non-functional ignition lock cylinders, replace the ignition lock cylinder housing.

  1. Refer to: Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Transceiver (419-01B Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), Removal and Installation).

Installation

  1. NOTICE: Make sure that the ignition switch and the ignition lock cylinder are aligned before installation.

    Make sure the ignition lock cylinder is in the ACC position.
  1. Insert the ignition lock cylinder into the ignition lock cylinder housing located on the steering column. Make sure to align the locking pin with the locking pin access hole.
  1. Rotate the ignition key through all lock cylinder positions to check for correct operation.
