Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

   Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
   

1. 1. To remove the mirror assembly carry out steps 3 through 10.
      
   2. To remove the mirror glass carry out steps 11 through 13.
      
   3. To remove the mirror motor carry out steps 14 through 17.
      
   4. To remove the mirror mounted turn signal lamp carry out steps 18 through 23.
      
   5. To remove the puddle lamp carry out step 24.
      

Exterior rear view mirror assembly

1. Remove the front door interior trim panel.
   Refer to: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Torque : 5 Nm

1. Torque : 2.5 Nm

1. NOTE: Position the division bar off the window regulator track.

   NOTE: Access the exterior rear view mirror connector through the front door speaker opening.

1. Torque : 9 Nm

Exterior rear view mirror glass

1. NOTE: Vehicles not equipped with side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Vehicles equipped with side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs, replace the mirror glass if damaged.
   

Exterior rear view mirror motor

1. NOTE: Vehicles without side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Vehicles with side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs, replace the mirror glass if damaged.
   

1. Carry out this step only for motor replacement.
   

Exterior rear view mirror mounted turn signal lamp

1. NOTE: Vehicles without side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Vehicles with side obstacle detection.

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs, replace the mirror glass if damaged.
   

Puddle lamp

1. NOTE: Carry out this step only if a new puddle lamp is being installed.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
